Hi All,
I'm a big Harvst fan and an ever bigger Home Assistant fan, so I'm delighted to share a custom Integration I've created.
It's all local control, so no cloud or internet connection is required.
This is an unofficial integration, but a big thanks go to Chris for his help in understanding how the system works and even making a firmware change to allow monitoring of the pump.
**Early days**, it currently makes several calls to the WaterMate, so I'm unsure how it will impact battery life for those using solar/battery power.
Current shows:
- Switches for the 3 AUX controls
- Temperature Sensor
- Status of the Pump
Hopefully, this is helpful to others. I plan to reduce the number of calls made to the WaterMate, which will allow for more sensors and data.
@ExpanseHA, You can check out the repo here. link
The open HACS repository link should take you most of the way, but please let me know if you have any questions or issues.
@caelen, This is a relatively basic custom integration for Home Assistant. It is built on top of the Harvst Web UI, so it doesn't require any special changes on the Harvst side.
In its current state, it allows to:
- Monitor the temperature sensor of your WaterMate
- Monitor and control ( On/Off ) the AUX controls ( e.g. Heating cable )
- Monitor if the pump is running or not.
I've had it running nonstop on my Sprout S24 for months now. It allows me to see how my mini greenhouse is doing from my Home assistant dashboard.
It seems less important in the summer when I'm mainly checking that the watering has run for the day.
But it was incredibly helpful to quickly see the overnight temperature and heating working during the colder nights.
Happy to answer any questions or take on feature requests. I've got a list I'm sure you'll get back to when summer is over.
I stumbled across this HA integration on HACS and wondered if it's still operational as when I attempt to install it I receive the error "Config flow could not be loaded: {"message":"Invalid handler specified"}". I can add this to the Github issues if you require? The config is correctly set in link.
Hey Neil,
It should still all be working, and it sounds like you have an issue on the Home Assistant side.
Please open an Github issue and share your config and I'll take a look.
Now that the weather is getting cooler, I'm starting to give more attention to my greenhouse and so this integration.

I've just installed the watermate pro system into our greenhouse and like you a big fan of Home Assistant which as you know runs our house.
I cam across your write up and would be very interested in using your integration, would you be able to share the integration?
This sounds great! Would you mind sharing a synopsis of how this works so we can put it in our upcoming newsletter?
Thanks,
Caelen

Thank you for getting back to me, I will test the integration in my HA environment.
Again thank you
