Pump stop

New water mate pro solar driving me mad. Set up carefully but now ( in manual pump ) pump motor groans down to a halt after 5 ish seconds, outlet connection leaks powerfully and valve connection moves sometimes pushing off. Alarm link water reaching drippers.
Plenty of outlets set up.
How do I test for air leaks before pump inlet and whether the valves are working. Should valves click discernibly?
Tank plenty of water no kinks in inlet.
Any thoughts / theories? Thanks

Further tests on manual watering:
Disconnected valve inlet- good smooth flow alarm after c. 10 secs
Disconnected valve outlet good smooth flow alarm again after 10 secs.
No leaks

Hi Mickb
The pro pump is quite powerful and supports up to 120 drippers ( 120 plants ), or 40 sprayers for 40m2 coverage, it sounds like the pump flow is restricted, you might need more outlets or a return pipe to the tank with a valve to adjust the return flow, I think you can also turn the alarm off on the control unit app.
How many outlets do you have?
Is the pipe work a ring or spur with capped end, If Spur, temporary remove the end see if it makes any difference.

No positive results there Paul. New request below with fuller details to see if other users have some thoughts.

Brand new Watermate pro Solar still not running correctly. Been reading seeking and solutions and testing for over 10 days now.
Made extensive use of troubleshooting, Charlotte and Paul S on forum suggestions. ( Thanks to them ).
System is set up as two spur zones with c. 8 m pipe to each both have 20 ish drippers fitted and stoppers at the ends.
Whenever I test on manual cycle I receive the low water email every time. On device control red message states -
“ No pump detected ( or high pressure switch triggered ) Please check connections”.

After manual switching on via control box the pump motor sounds ok initially but within seconds the motor virtually stops. A fast repeated clicking sound comes from the pump. From switching on, the pressure in the pipe between pump outlet and the valve inlet builds. The jubilee clipped pump outlet connector sprays but stays attached the valve end ( without jubilee clip ) will push off and disconnect.
Is this pump or valve at fault. Is reset backpressure any use?
I don’t know how to detect air ingress if this is happening, as suggested in alert emails.
No kinks or filters blocked and ample water depth in tank. Solar providing ample power. No clicks
or sounds from valve unit during operation. Photo of set up below.

Please ask further questions if I’ve missed something.
My thanks in advance.
Mick

Charlotte could you share with the team? I’m in need of solutions
Also posting on forum to look for ideas / help.

Hi Mick

"A fast repeated clicking sound comes from the pump" - this is definitely high pressure cut out.
Which means that either the valves are not opening or there is some other blockage.

1. Ensure the valves are connected to the right port on the control unit
2. Send us a photo of the valves and we'll make sure the connection is correct. Yes they make a discernable click ( though much less so with the newer black valves )
3. Let us know your device ID and I can confirm the settings are correct ( ideally also put it online if it's not already )

Thanks Chris for a prompt response. It feels good to get some support / progress.

1. Definitely connected securely to the correct port on control
2. Photo of valve connection below - hope this is what you meant. This valve unit doesn’t make any sounds in operation.
3. E4B2463B015C - control box set up for offline and online.

Hi Mick, I'm seeing slightly strange things in your device logs, so I've updated the firmware to 2025040900 and will monitor.

Hi Mick, I've run a remote hardware test and from what I can determine here all is OK ( but that's a limited set of info ). Can you see if it's running OK now at your end?

Hi Chris
I didn’t find your message on forum until late pm. I don’t know if I needed to do any restart / reset here but I tried a manual pump twice on each zone. Still the same situation and symptoms as before unfortunately.
I am away from Saturday to Thursday but please keep possibilities flowing, I’ll try as soon as I get home.
Will an auto cycle make any difference?
Best wishes
Mick

Hi Mick
I think the quickest route to success for you is for me to have a look at your control unit and valves here at HQ, could I ask you to pop them in the post to us? We'll put some goodies in the return box to cover postage.
