Please could you ad an option that if the Watergate hasn't connected centrally for X hours/day that an email is sent. My watermate mini frequently drops the WiFi for no apparent reason and I find out by seeing my plants dry out! I have just been out to try and connect it again ( so waiting to see of the last data update date stamp changes in the next 30 minutes. Is there an easier way to see that it's connected right away? Or could you tell me how the device shows up on our router - then I'd know it had reconnected successfully without having to wait. Thanks!

I’m awaiting my water mate to be delivered, told it will be Tuesday and can’t wait. To help you out though Jen, if you know the ip address your water mate has on your network ( the address used uk connect to it via a web browser ), you can ping the address to see if it is online. If that would be helpful and you know the il address, I can explain it for you or someone might have another solution

Can you send a command for it to water for a set time? 30 seconds or so? Seem to remember that on the dashboard, and that would show it was online and receiving. Also, I think there's something in the settings page of the dashboard, that shows connection status... Been a while since I've used my WaterMate, so apologies I can't be more helpful...

Jen - the WaterMate will keep doing its thing ( watering! ) even when there is no wifi connection.
As for checking to see if it's connected, you can go to the Settings screen on the Device Control Panel and you can see the IP address it's been given by the router. On the same settings page you can also click "refresh data from server" which will also send data to server and will update the "last data received" on the web app.
I see that the last time it connected on 12 April, the connection was weak ( -87dBm ) ... if there's a way you can boost the signal it may be more reliable.

Thanks Chris, yes, the watering does still continue but I have been trying to update the schedule so it waters more often with the sunnier weather and that appears not to have taken. I have even tried to update it when I'm in the greenhouse by logging on to the control panel directly via the Harvst wifi. I have reset the wifi a number of times. The watermate has a green flashing light on the top button so I was hoping it was working ok. We have already installed a wi-fi point in the garage approx 15m from the greenhouse. No other devices have any problem with 2.4 wifi in the greenhouse. We will try to boost the wifi strength but if you could let me know what the WaterMate shows up as on the router it will help me to see whether it's connected rather than waiting for the next 30 min update to the server. It does do all the right beeps per the manual to say it's connected.

Hi PapaBear and Richard, thank you for your suggestions :- ) Yes when I'm in the control panel I can successfully execute a water now process. There is an IP address for our router ( not the 192.168.4.1 ) but that isn't showing as having anything connected to it. I've also dug around the control panel and found the MAC ID and that isn't showing on our router either. I think the IP address I can see is the last one it connected as. PapaBear, I really like my WaterMate, especially the water if above temperature etc.I have two water runs, one for the top of the staging and one for the lower level and pots on the floor. When I get the schedules right it's brilliant. My concern is that mine does drop the wifi often and if I don't keep checking I don't know if schedule changes are accepted. I also don't get any other warnings that it may want to send me.

As of approx 4pm today its IP 192.168.1.131
Looks like something you did has brought it back online.
I've set the firmware to update [2025041003] just while we have you online : ) Nothing majorly new to report in this version but good to stay up to date.

Hi Chris, yes it was on for a very brief time before dropping again. Thank you for sending the firmware upgrade. I will go out tomorrow and check it's taken ok. We did get it back, again for a few minutes but right now it's off line. The good thing is that I think my updated schedule took!
